Once received by Alaska Seaplanes, Standard Freight shipments will take 1-3 days to reach their destination. *More Important Cargo Related Details*

Cargo: * In Juneau, Cargo Shipments will only be accepted at our Cargo Facility during posted Business Hours*

• Cargo can be dropped off and picked up at our convenient location in each community or at the Juneau Cargo Office located at 1871 Shell Simmons Dr. (adjacent to North Terminal) during business hours.
• Single piece maximum weight is 150 pounds (actual weight). Charters may be possible with special handling provisions. Contact our cargo team at cargo@flyalaskaseaplanes.com. 
• Standard Freight -Prioritized on a first come, first serve basis -- flies standby on our regularly scheduled flights. Arrives within 3 days in most cases.
• Urgent Freight - We offer guaranteed delivery on the next available flight with GOLDRUSH priority for smaller items, and aircraft CHARTERS for scheduled oversized or bulk shipments - see detailed GOLDRUSH info above
• Items greater than 24 lineal inches are subject to dimensional weight charges - Length x width x height (in inches) divided by 177 equals dimensional weight. Chargeable weight is the greater of dimensional weight and actual weight.
• Juneau and Sitka locations provide freezer and cooler storage for perishable items. Storage fees may apply.
• Stored items can be picked up during regular business hours.
• All cakes, ice cream and other perishable items (cooler and freezer) are transported at the shippers’ risk. This includes "Hot Food" - already prepared Pizza, Burgers, Chinese, Thai, etc.
• Although Alaska Seaplanes will attempt to provide care of all shipments, Alaska Seaplanes will not be liable for loss due to: improper or insufficient packing, the nature of the shipment or any defect thereof which would render it unsuitable for air transportation; goods received damaged from shipper, damage to fragile items or other items which Alaska Seaplanes accepts for shipment at "shipper's risk"; damages, delays, or other results caused by other carriers; and spoilage of perishable items.
• We do not assume financial liability for spoilage, thawing or freezing due to delays in transit, unless there is clear evidence of mishandling or negligence.
• No shipments will be accepted in open boxes or plastic bags. Shipping boxes are available for a small fee.
• Unclaimed freight will be donated or discarded if not picked up within 7 days.
• GOLDRUSH Priority Freight is available for an extra fee for time sensitive items.
   

Extra Freight Charges:

Transfer/Pick-up Charge:  If cargo shipments originate on Alaska Seaplanes and require a transfer to Alaska Airlines or ACE Air Cargo to continue on to their final destination, there will be a $25 transfer fee applied for this service.  And if your freight shipment arrives in Juneau on another carrier C/O Alaska Seaplanes to it's final destination, this fee will also apply.

Dimensional weight: all items greater than 24 lineal inches are subject to dimensional weight charges - Length x width x height (in inches) divided by 177 equals dimensional weight. Chargeable weight is the greater of dimensional weight and actual weight.

Bicycle Fees: unboxed bicycles with tires greater than 12" are subject to a $50 handling fee in addition to the regular freight or baggage charges.

Pallet Breakdown Fee: Many shipments we receive arrive on a pallet. This may cause the shipment to be over our 150 pound maximum limit. If we need to break the shipment down to meet the weight requirement or to fit the shipment in the aircraft, a $50 Pallet Breakdown Fee will be applied.

Hazardous Material

Hours of acceptance 10am - 2pm Monday - Friday

Department of Transportation requires that all items considered or containing hazardous materials must be declared at the time of check-in. If you are unsure if your item contains hazardous materials, ask a Customer Service Agent.

Items 51-70 pounds will have an additional $20 charge. No items over 70 pounds are accepted at the Main Terminal in Juneau for storage.

Bicycle Fees: unboxed bicycles with tires greater than 12" are subject to a $50 handling fee in addition to the regular freight or baggage charges.

Pallet Breakdown Fee: $50.00 (see explanation to the left, under Extra Freight Charges)

Unaccompanied Animal Fee -

Small kennel $25 (21" x 16" x 15")
Medium kennel $80 (27" x 20" x 19")
Large Kennel $120 (36" x 24" x 26")
XL Kennel $175 (40" x 27" 30")

To ship an unaccompanied animal, please call ahead to make arrangements. Animals are shipped as space becomes available. We do not take "reservations" for animals. All unaccompanied animals must be brought 1 hour prior to departure times, and picked up immediately upon arrival to its final destination. If animals are not picked up and the responsible party is not able to be reached, this can and will result in the involvement of the local animal control. Any fees associated to the negligence of the animal will be the responsibility of the animal owner. In the case of weather delays or cancellations, we require any animals to be picked up and cared for until which time we are able to accommodate the transportation of the animal.
